from paul jamieson (august 2008):
mogwai played 3 shows at the key youth centre in east kilbride around this time, though i don't remember any of the dates. first as a 3 piece, without john, then possibly again with john minus dominic who was sick (memory is kind of fuzzy, so can't be 100% on that). pretty sure there was 3 shows though - 2 in 95 and one in 96 i believe?
the 2nd one was a week before the solar race show at the cathouse - probably the 6th december 1995 as things there seemed to be on wednesday night.
from 'the art of noise' (mogwai feature), mojo magazine, december 2008:
in late 1995, mogwai played their first three gigs, as a trio, appearing twice at glasgow's 13th note club and then at the key youth centre in east kilbride. john cummings was in the audience for the glasgow shows. returning to east kilbride in december, cummings was now a member.
7 known mogwai shows. this list is incomplete. no known setlist details.
it is likely that 1995 setlists would have included 'lower', 'tuner', 'summer' and possibly 'hippo march' and 'jazz odyssey'.
stuart has confirmed that early mogwai shows also featured a version of 'it's all over' by the god machine.
