sold out. benefit for one in four. support from the magnificents.
live debut for 'folk death 95' and 'emergency trap'.
from erik baurdoux:
it was great! so happy to hear my father my king!!
from andy mcculloch:
i was at the cabaret voltaire gig on monday. i could only hear the show as i was at the back of a very tight room and the band were on a low stage. are all gwai fans giants?!
entirely from hazy, drunken memory, it was a set of rarities ('may nothing but happiness come through your door' and 'stanley kubrick') and newies with rousing versions of 'xmas steps', 'ratts of the capital' and 'hunted by a freak'. the encore was another newie which evolved into 'my father my king' but i saw that progression coming from a mile away. there may have been more oldies but, as i said, i ended up very drunk.
the sound was amazing, especially towards the end when the engineer cranked it all up.
