    miscellaneous info.

mogwai were supporting the cure, along with the cranes and joseph arthur. their set was around 50 minutes in length, from 6.30pm onwards, and the line-up included a cellist. the show was part of a series of gigs held in hyde park under the 'route of kings' banner. headlining acts on other days included meatloaf, supertramp and paul weller.

jp has commented that 'c#' was introduced by stuart as "a thankyou to the cure" and reckons that the bassline was very similar to the cure's 'prayers for rain'. perhaps 'c#' was inspired by the latter? an interesting theory.

it was a nice day with three of our favourite bands. we all really enjoyed it. this time the loudness of mogwai was very good! not so loud as when they are playing alone. it's better this way! they played one new song (i think) which was very nice. cranes and cure were also in a very good mood.

    an unforgettable afternoon/evening...

s***, f***, damn. where were all the 'gwai fans at hyde park? they didnt play for all that long, about 50 minutes, but the stuff i smoked made it seem much longer, quality. a nice bit in 'cowboy' when stuart was trying to make the most obnoxious noise possible for the citizens of london. it was a shame that half the crowd insisted on talking about their week at the office and how much snakebite they've drunk lately all the way through.
