encore: thanks kelan and john. support from earth.
from kelan: great show tonight at the fillmore in san francisco, the sound was quite impressive, although not as loud as i've come to expect from mogwai. they came onstage decked out in celtic green jackets blaring the opening credit music from the 1973 scottish cult film, the wicker man. from john: at the start of their set, stuart came out on stage alone and started playing the guitar part to xmas steps, followed by the other members walking on stage one-by-one, as their part manifested. from charles: the san francisco show last night was quite excellent. i went with a number of people who were familiar with the band but didn't really know specific songs, and all were suitably impressed. from kevin: this was my first time hearing them live and i was impressed. they are much heavier live than their studio album would leave you to believe. their live sound really emasculates other rock bands out there. i wish they had performed killing all the flies; that would have made the set perfect. |
