yesterday in reims was my second time seeing mogwai in two days,and it was the best of the two. i have to admit,it was probably my favourite time seeing them, along with the olympia show in paris in 2006.
they came on with the usual opener the precipice, quickly followed by friend of the night, strangely the only song lifted from mr beast. it wasn't until summer that the show really began. a nice addition to the setlist, it sits quick well along the new songs. speaking of old songs, ithica was probably my highlight of the night, the wall of sound at the end was truly brilliant. they ended with satan, stuart hitting the wrong pedal at the very end of the quiet bit at the end of the song. it made every one onstage collapse with laughter, and actually showed how much fun the band was having. they ended, as usual, with like herod and batcat.
a brilliant show, i thought they might have played some other songs (2 rights make 1 wrong, travel is dangerous) but that's the problem with a band having so many good songs, you can't have them all.
